ABOUT ME

Since obtaining my Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Maryland in 2011, I have been working as a psychiatric pharmacist providing direct medication management to patients with mental health and substance use disorders. Additionally, I work in a traditional dispensing pharmacist role. I therefore have a unique understanding of the challenges that both patients and providers face in determining the best course of action for psychiatric medication management. I understand that taking medication for one's mental health is personal. Everyone has a unique set of circumstances that will affect what works best for them in terms of their mental wellbeing. I bring this knowledge with me when I work with prescribers and patients to optimize treatment. I seek out ongoing training and education to ensure that my knowledge and recommendations remain up to date and in alignment with current research.
Some topics that I have extensive knowledge and experience in include:
- Depression
- Schizophrenia
-Bipolar disorder
- Trauma and Stressor-Related Disorders
-Substance use disorders
-Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
Some areas that I am passionate about include:
-Women's mental health including the use of medications before/during pregnancy and postpartum
-Nutrition and exercise and their role in mental health
-Supporting athletes with decision making and medication management as it comes to medications for mental health
-Reviewing clinical evidence for dietary and herbal supplements and their role in the treatment of mental health
